PARENTING GUIDANCE

PARENTING DOESN'T COME WITH A ROADMAP.

You can know your child better than anyone and still have moments when you are not sure what to do next. Parenting guidance gives you a place to talk through what has changed, understand what your child may be communicating, and find strategies that fit your family. We begin by listening to what you are seeing at home, at school, and in your relationship with your child.

WHEN PARENTING FEELS DIFFICULT

YOU CAN LOVE YOUR CHILD AND STILL FEEL UNSURE SOMETIMES.

Children and teens change as they grow, and something that worked six months ago may not work now. You may be dealing with strong emotions, behavior changes, anxiety, school stress, conflict, changing family dynamics, or conversations that seem to go nowhere.

Parenting guidance gives you time to slow things down and look at the patterns underneath the conflict. Sometimes a small change in how a situation is approached can make everyday family life feel very different.

Frequent arguments or communication difficulties
Behavior or emotional changes that are hard to understand
School stress, anxiety, friendships, or social concerns
Difficulty setting boundaries or staying consistent
Separation, grief, blended families, or other life changes
Feeling overwhelmed or unsure what your child needs
HOW PARENTING GUIDANCE CAN HELP

WE'LL LOOK AT WHAT'S HAPPENING AND WHAT MAY HELP.

Parenting guidance is not about finding one perfect technique. We look at your child's age, temperament, needs, routines, relationships, and the situations that are causing the most stress. From there, we can identify changes that feel realistic and useful in everyday family life.

Look Beneath the Behavior

Behavior often tells us something. We can look at what your child may be feeling, needing, avoiding, or struggling to express.

Try Strategies That Fit

Sessions may include boundaries, routines, expectations, emotional regulation, consequences, and ways to make difficult conversations more productive.

Protect the Relationship

The goal is not simply better behavior. We also want to strengthen trust, connection, and the way you and your child communicate with one another.

OUR APPROACH TO PARENTING GUIDANCE

YOU KNOW YOUR CHILD. WE BRING ANOTHER PERSPECTIVE.

Parenting guidance is collaborative. You bring what you know about your child, your family, and what has already been tried. Your therapist brings another perspective and experience working with children, teens, parents, and families. We can decide together what makes sense to try and adjust as your family's needs change.

Collaborative Parent Coaching We begin by listening to your concerns and goals rather than assuming there is one right answer for your family.
Real-Life Strategies Ideas are meant to work outside the therapy office, including communication, routines, boundaries, emotional regulation, and everyday parenting decisions.
Family-Focused Care When helpful, therapy can also include children or other caregivers so everyone has an opportunity to improve communication and connection together.
