TRAUMA & PTSD THERAPY

WHAT HAPPENED TO YOU DOESN'T HAVE TO DEFINE YOU.

Difficult or traumatic experiences can continue to affect how you feel long after the immediate danger has passed. You may notice changes in your emotions, relationships, sleep, concentration, or sense of safety. Trauma therapy can give you space to make sense of what you are experiencing and begin finding ways to feel more grounded in the present.

WHAT TRAUMA CAN FEEL LIKE

SOMETIMES YOUR MIND AND BODY ARE STILL TRYING TO PROTECT YOU.

After something frightening, painful, or overwhelming, your reactions may change in ways you did not expect. A sound, place, conversation, relationship, or memory can suddenly bring back strong emotions or a sense that something is wrong.

You may also feel constantly alert, emotionally numb, disconnected, easily startled, or exhausted from trying to avoid reminders of what happened. These responses can make everyday life feel harder, even when you know logically that you are no longer in the same situation.

Distressing memories or thoughts that keep returning
Feeling constantly alert, tense, or unsafe
Avoiding people, places, or situations connected to what happened
Feeling disconnected from yourself or other people
Difficulty sleeping, relaxing, or concentrating
Strong emotional or physical reactions to reminders
HOW TRAUMA & PTSD THERAPY CAN HELP

WE CAN START WITH WHAT YOU NEED RIGHT NOW.

Trauma therapy does not begin with forcing you to tell every detail of what happened. We can begin with what is affecting your life today. From there, we can work on feeling more settled, recognizing patterns and triggers, and finding healthier ways to respond when difficult emotions or memories come up.

Feel More Grounded

We can practice ways to help your mind and body settle when memories, emotions, or situations begin to feel overwhelming.

Recognize Your Responses

Learning what sets off certain reactions can make them feel less confusing and give you more options for how you respond.

Reconnect With the Present

The goal is not to erase the past. It is to help what happened carry less weight in the way you feel, relate, and live today.

Parents & Families Guidance for recognizing trauma responses and creating more supportive communication, stability, and connection at home.
OUR APPROACH TO TRAUMA THERAPY

YOU HAVE A SAY IN HOW WE MOVE FORWARD.

Trauma therapy should feel collaborative. We will talk about what feels manageable, check in as we go, and choose approaches based on your needs and goals. Some people benefit from focusing first on coping and stability, while others may eventually want to process specific memories or experiences.

Trauma-Informed Care We pay attention to safety, trust, choice, and your comfort throughout therapy.
Coping & Regulation Skills We can practice strategies for managing triggers, strong emotions, stress, and moments when your body feels on high alert.
EMDR When appropriate, EMDR may help with memories or experiences that continue to feel distressing or emotionally intense.
